Sometimes when I ponder the political utterings of some fellow musicians, I would wish the latter was always possible. But it isn’t, as some of these colleagues are famous, and one of the side effects of being famous is that one gives constant interviews and is asked about a lot of things, not always about music. And if one is a not-too-shy human being it is very easy to express an opinion…. or give a comment on current affairs. Or rather use the opportunity to say something completely stupid, which is more often the case.
Während ich dies schreibe, feiere ich meinen 46. Geburtstag. Oder vielmehr: ich feiere nicht, da ich ja dies hier schreibe.
Geburtstage sind immer ein Moment des Innehaltens und der Rückschau, des Nachdenkens über das Älterwerden. Mein kleiner Sohn (4) möchte am liebsten jeden Tag Geburtstag feiern und möglichst schnell älter werden, aber irgendwann wird auch für ihn der Punkt kommen (so um die 20 rum), wo er die Geburtstage nicht mehr so herbeisehnt, und eigentlich gleich alt bleiben möchte. Wenn es soweit ist, werde ich ihm eine Empfehlung aussprechen, die garantiert dafür sorgt, dass er immer jung bleibt. Ich werde ihm sagen: „Werde Komponist“.
