Afghanistan braucht Elliott Carter."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nach hart erk&#228;mpften 2 Wochen Urlaub als Sozialschmarotzer auf Paros (Griechenland, &#252;brigens sehr zu empfehlen), 2000 zu beantwortenden Mails, einem Konzert im Konkordia-Kontainer, &#228;h, Container, einer Deadline f&#252;r das n&#228;chste ZEIT-Magazin&#8230;melde ich mich gehorsamst wieder zum Blog Frondienst.<\/p>\n<p>Und netterweise gibt es ja viele, die mir immer wieder Fundst&#252;cke aus dem Netz schicken. So fand zum Beispiel Lars Werdenberg folgendes bahnbrechendes Video bei youtube:<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-container\"><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/1kgAOOU9Qmw?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=de-DE&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/div>\n<p>Beim Anschauen dieses Videos (der Inhalt in K&#252;rze: William Harvey ist Violinprofessor am &#8222;Afghanistan National Institute of Music&#8220; und spielt den wehrlosen Afghanen an verschiedenen Auff&#252;hrungsorten Soloviolinmusik von Elliott Carter vor und interviewt sie dann dazu) kommen mir zwei Gedanken:<\/p>\n<p>Erstens:  Musik f&#252;r Sologeige geh&#246;rte noch nie zu meinen hei&#223; geliebtesten Genres. Irgendwie klingt das immer wie jemand der verzweifelt versucht etwas sch&#246;n zu spielen, was aber dann letztlich nicht gelingt. Und es gibt irgendwie nur 5 Geiger auf dem ganzen Planeten, denen es dann doch mal gelingt. Aber die spielen dann nicht Elliott Carter sondern irgendwelche langweiligen Konzerte von Max Bruch.<\/p>\n<p>Zweitens: Warum lieb&#228;ugelt die Neue Musik immer mit so einer zur Schau getragenen Gutmenschenattit&#252;de? So als ob es die Menschen besser macht, wenn sie m&#246;glichst akademische Musik h&#246;ren und mit ernstem Gesicht wissend dazu nicken. Hape Kerkeling hat das schon einmal bekannterma&#223;en persifliert, diese Carter-Performance ist ehrlich gesagt gar nicht so un&#228;hnlich, nur, dass es nichts zu lachen gibt.<\/p>\n<p>Es ist immer ein schlechtes Zeichen, wenn einem angepriesen wird, wie gut etwas f&#252;r einen ist. Gibt es ein sichereres Zeichen f&#252;r den schlechten Zustand des Deutschen Buchmarktes als dass man an jeder Ecke Plakate sieht, auf denen steht, wie wichtig und gut es f&#252;r einen ist, B&#252;cher zu lesen? Und ist es nicht ebenso ein sicheres Zeichen f&#252;r den schlechten Zustand der Musikszene, dass inzwischen schon 1-j&#228;hrigen Instrumente in die H&#228;nde gedr&#252;ckt werden und Kinderg&#228;rten stolz damit werben, dass in ihnen gesungen wirbt?<\/p>\n<p>Nicht, dass wir uns falsch verstehen &#8211; sowohl B&#252;cher lesen als auch Musik h&#246;ren und vor allem machen sind sinnvolle und spannende Besch&#228;ftigungen. Aber sollte es nicht die Neugier sein, die einem diese Besch&#228;ftigung nahe legt, anstatt dass es einem wie von einem Arzt als Rezept f&#252;r ein besseres Menschsein verschrieben wird?<br \/>\nHierzu f&#228;llt mir eine kleine Geschichte ein: Einmal vor vielen Jahren war ich bei einem befreundeten Ehepaar zu Besuch &#8211; eines ihrer Kinder war ein adoptiertes Kind afrikanischer Abstammung. Beim Essen gab es nur ein Thema &#8211; beide Eltern redeten auf den kleinen Jungen ein, der wohl im Kindergarten auf seine Hautfarbe angesprochen worden war : &#8222;Es ist nicht schlimm, dass Du anders bist! Es ist nicht schlimm, dass Deine Haut schokoladenbraun ist! Es ist nicht schlimm, dass Du Kr&#228;uselhaar hast!&#8220;. Nat&#252;rlich musste das Kind ob dieser obsessiven Wiederholung eben doch genau das denken: es ist vielleicht doch schlimm, anders zu sein.<br \/>\nAn dieser Geschichte nervt mich genau so viel wie an jemandem, der mir sagt &#8222;auch schr&#228;ge Kl&#228;nge k&#246;nnen sch&#246;n sein&#8220;. So wird ja oft Neue Musik in Schulen angepriesen. Letztlich wird das &#8222;Schr&#228;gsein&#8220; damit ja konfirmiert, wogegen es ja in Wirklichkeit &#252;berhaupt keine schr&#228;gen Kl&#228;nge gibt, sondern nur akustische Informationen unterschiedlicher kulturhistorischer Bedeutungsauspr&#228;gung. <\/p>\n<p>Diese Diskussion ist ein heikles Minenfeld &#8211; mir ist bewusst, dass ich auf diesen Seiten schon &#246;fters f&#252;r das Sch&#246;ne, Wahre, Gute und die Vorz&#252;ge von kultureller Bildung eingetreten bin. Gleichzeitig merke ich aber, wie mich einiges an dem Video aus Afghanistan aggressiv macht. Ist es der missionarische Eifer des Geigers, der mir beweisen will, dass auch die Afghanen gl&#252;ckliche neue und vor allem westlich gepr&#228;gte Ohren bekommen sollen? Sind es die leeren Blicke der Zuh&#246;rer, denen die Begeisterung &#252;ber das Dargebotene jetzt nicht direkt aus dem Gesicht springt? Ist es das dr&#246;ge Cartersche St&#252;ck? Ist es das Zitat des jungen Afghanen, der exakt das sagt, was der amerikanische Fragensteller von ihm h&#246;ren m&#246;chte, n&#228;mlich dass das St&#252;ck angeblich die M&#252;digkeit vom Krieg darstellen soll?<\/p>\n<p>Nat&#252;rlich ist nichts dagegen einzuwenden, in Afghanistan solche Musik zu spielen. Und auch das Argument, dass man dort jetzt vielleicht erst einmal ein paar Dinge auf die Reihe bekommen sollte bevor man Konzerte spielen darf, zieht nicht. Dennoch &#8211; w&#252;rde Harvey zum Beispiel nach Syrien reisen und dortigen vermeintlichen oder echten Giftgasopfern dasselbe St&#252;ck vorspielen, um sie mit abendl&#228;ndischer Kultur zu begl&#252;cken&#8230;es h&#228;tte schon ein Geschm&#228;ckle.<\/p>\n<p>Auf jeden Fall w&#252;nsche ich Afghanistan Frieden, Wohlstand, Ruhe, Sicherheit&#8230;.und eine eigene spannende Musikszene, die aus eigenen klanglichen Erfindungen ihre Kraft gewinnt. Und dann k&#246;nnen sie ja zu uns kommen und uns damit missionieren.
