Was hat Odysseus vernommen, als er seiner Mannschaft die Ohren mit Wachs verschloss und sich an den Mast fesseln lie&#223;, um ungestraft h&#246;ren zu k&#246;nnen? Die Elbphilharmonie im Hamburger Hafen war im November 2019 Ausgangspunkt f&#252;r einen besonderen Lauschangriff, den wir hier in einem Livemitschnitt vorstellen: Residenzkomponistin Unsuk Chin versetzt sich in die Lage des listigen Griechen, erinnert zugleich an James Joyces Jahrhundertroman \u201eUlisses\u201c und legt mit und f&#252;r die Sopransolistin Nika Gori&#196;? und das Orchester allerlei &#252;berraschende, sinnlich t&#246;nende K&#246;der aus. Weitere, nicht minder virtuose Stationen dieser H&#246;rexpedition mit dem NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester unter der Leitung von Carlos Miguel Prieto: das Violakonzert \u201eLa Nuit des Chants\u201c von Thierry Escaich sowie Iannis Xenakis\u2019 Orchesterwerk \u201eJonchaies\u201c.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Eschaich hat zuvor bei den Initiationsriten der Navajos die Ohren gespitzt, einem der gr&#246;&#223;ten V&#246;lker der nordamerikanischen Ureinwohner: In seinem f&#252;r Antonie Tamestit komponierten Konzert taucht er musikalisch in eine enorm reiche, komplexe Kultur ein. Und \u201eJonchaies\u201c hei&#223;t soviel wie \u201eBinsendickicht\u201c. Mag die Binse im Deutschen redensartlich auch keinen so guten Ruf haben, bei Xenakis steigert sich das unscheinbare, aber weit verbreitete Gew&#228;chs mit der geballten Kraft von 109 Musikerinnen und Musikern zu ungeahnter Intensit&#228;t. August 1970 vollendete Bernd Alois Zimmermann seine \u201eEkklesiastische Aktion\u201c \u201eIch wandte mich und sah an alles Unrecht, das geschah unter der Sonne\u201c; f&#252;nf Tage sp&#228;ter nahm er sich, gequ&#228;lt von Depressionen und einem Augenleiden, zerm&#252;rbt auch von den Grabenk&#228;mpfen in der Neue-Musik-Szene, das Leben. Die Stadt Kiel hatte bei Zimmermann eigentlich einen festlichen Beitrag zu einem Konzert bei den olympischen Segelwettk&#228;mpfen bestellt; aber was Zimmermann schlie&#223;lich schrieb, ist von tiefster Verzweiflung und Hoffnungslosigkeit gepr&#228;gt. Texte aus dem biblischen Buch Kohelet und aus Dostojewskis Roman \u201eDie Br&#252;der Karamasow\u201c verbinden sich zu einer Anklage gegen Macht und Unrecht, aber auch zu einer Klage &#252;ber Einsamkeit und Sinnleere. Ein St&#252;ck, das noch heute unter die Haut geht, findet Roland Kluttig. Der international gefeierte Dirigent, langj&#228;hrige Generalmusikdirektor von Coburg und ab Herbst Chef der Oper Graz war schon w&#228;hrend seiner Jugend in der DDR von Zimmermanns (damals schwer zug&#228;nglicher) Musik elektrisiert. In der Reihe \u201eFaszination Neue Musik\u201c aus dem Studio Franken stellt er seine Sicht auf das Werk vor \u2013 ein Beitrag zum 50. Neue Musik aus der Elbphilharmonie (2)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Eine wundersame Spirale als nat&#252;rliche Wachstumskurve, die Gruselstory vom Sandmann, der den Kindern die Augen ausrei&#223;t, oder schlicht die Liebe zu einem so wandlungsf&#228;higen, facettenreichen Instrument wie die Klarinette: Vielf&#228;ltig sind die Anregungen, die die Komponistin Unsuk Chin f&#252;r ihre Musik n&#252;tzt. Dieses Portr&#228;tkonzert, aufgenommen im Februar 2020 in der Hamburger Elbphilharmonie mit dem Klarinettisten Kari Kriikku sowie Stefan Asbury am Pult des NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchesters, stellt die in Seoul geborene Berlinerin mit drei repr&#228;sentativen Werken der letzten Jahre vor, in denen sie nicht zuletzt zeigt, welche virtuos schillernden Farben sie dem gro&#223;en Klangk&#246;rper regelm&#228;&#223;ig abgewinnt.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\u201eMannequins\u201c basiert auf E. T. A. Hoffmanns \u201eSandmann\u201c und dem unheimlichen Driften zwischen Realit&#228;t und Fiktion in einer \u201eimagin&#228;ren Choreographie\u201c, wie sie selbst es nennt. Im Klarinettenkonzert fr&#246;nt sie ihrer Liebe zu dem, was das Instrument klanglich jenseits einer klassisch-kultivierten Sph&#228;re leisten kann, greift dabei auch auf eine alte Form wie die Passacaglia zur&#252;ck oder n&#252;tzt nicht-klassische Muster wie den Groove. Und im Konzert f&#252;r Orchester \u201eSpira\u201c wird die Resonanz zweier Vibraphone zur Urzelle, die sie nach der \u201eSpira mirabilis\u201c entwickelt, der in der Natur vom Schneckenhaus bis zur Galaxie vorkommenden, logarithmischen Wachstumsspirale.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Unsuk Chin: \u201eIch glaube nicht, dass es einen Weg zuru\u0308ck zu Neoromantik, Neoklassizismus oder zu anderen Neoismen gibt. Andererseits glaube ich auch nicht an das Konzept der Avantgarde.
